Job Summary

The Biomed Equipment Technician II must have the ability to troubleshoot, read schematics, block diagrams and knowledge of dc electronics, and needs to have strong computer related skills, and knowledge of medical devices. Service and preventive maintenance experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills needed.

Minimum Qualifications

The Biomed Equipment Technician II assembles, maintains and repairs all types of biomedical (medical) equipment utilizing various test equipment and tools necessary for the job and performs preventive maintenance in accordance to manufacture’s recommendations and departmental standards, and provides medical staff and nursing personnel with equipment in-services as necessary.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

Education:

Associate degree in electronic or biomedical technology or equivalent knowledge/experience.

 

Experience:       

Previous experience with medical equipment is preferred.

 

Licensure,  certification, and/or registration:

Not required.

 

Other Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of electronic theory and skill in testing electronic equipment. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, electrical and mechanical quantities.   Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work independently or as part of a team.  Ability to carry out assigned tasks unsupervised per protocol.
