Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provides health education activities and screenings in the communities served by Carilion Clinic, in a variety of locations including public venues and employer worksites.
 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in a medical, social or behavioral health field or graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required. Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience required, including demonstration of healthcare-related competencies and skills. Experience in public health or occupational health preferred.

Licensure/Certification: LPN and Basic Life Support certification required; RN is preferred. Virginia Drivers License.

Other: Must be service-oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires the ability to educate clients of any age or SES level on health issues; demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide educational components, knowledge of principles of growth and life span development, assesses specific participant information to identify risk factors. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications highly desirable. Computer skills desired. Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and possess decision-making skills based on expertise and professional judgement. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must provide own transportation and travel to other Carilion work sites as needed.
