MMIS Director - Carilion Materials Management

Job Summary

Carilion Clinic’s Inventory, Suppliers, and Contracts Department is seeking a Materials Management Information System (MMIS) Director in Roanoke, VA. You will serve as an onsite leader for the Materials Management Consulting, MMIS operations, and the Inventory Management department. Additionally, you will collaborate with information services to asses, develop, and implement plans to meet the defined needs of MMIS on a system-wide-basis. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the Corporate Warehouse, Corporate Distribution, CMC Distribution and CNRVMC inventories, including computerization, inventory ordering, day-to-day inventory function and general management.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

  • Organize, manage, and control departmental functions and resources related to the management of the Materials Management Information System. 
  • Collaborate with other Material Management functions to support internal customer(s) and develop effective vendor relationships. 
  • Direct the centralized LAWSON Materials Management computer program, inventory, and patient charging systems for Central, CRCH, and CRMH Distribution centers. 
  • Establish strategy and identify day-to-day priorities and direct staff task assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Health Care Management or related field required. MBA/Master’s degree in related field is required or 15 years’ experience related to this position.

Experience:  **Experience with INFOR Software highly preffered** Previous Purchasing and accounts payable, and Material management information system experience required. Knowledge of medical supplies. Lawson 10.0 knowledge is highly desired. Ten years of Healthcare experience demonstrating increased or diversified responsibility. Management experience in a multi-facility experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Virginia Driver’s license

Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong customer services and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Advanced knowledge of Lawson or equivalent MMIS procurement module. Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel. Familiarity with automated procurement and inventory control systems. Must be able to travel to other Carilion work sites as necessary.
