Master Esthetician - Cosmetic Center

Provides support as a skin care specialist in the performance of various body and facial procedures aimed at increasing, improving or maintaining the health and appearance of human skin. Assists physicians/providers in a variety of skin care treatments. As a Carilion employee, earn a base salary, commission, and full benefits. Provides more advanced clinical care specific to the cosmetic surgery setting, including:
- Assists the physician/provider with educating patients about how to care for their skin before/after procedures
- Performs advanced technical skills for patients according to established standards and appropriately documents patient observations
- Administering facial exfoliation and rejuvenation treatments to include microdermabrasion.
- Administering medical strength chemical peels.
- Performing laser hair removal.
- Performing laser facial resurfacing.
- Managing skin care product lines and inventory and point of sale (POS) software.
- Greeting patients and assists with check-in/check-out procedures.
- Updating patient demographic information.
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments and receiving/relaying messages.
- Utilizing automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.

Education: Completion of an approved master esthetics training program from a licensed esthetics school required.
Experience: Experience in a cosmetic surgery, medical office or medical spa setting preferred. Experience with laser procedures preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current licensure from the VA Board of Barbers and Cosmetology required. AHA BLS-HCP Certification required within 6 months of hire. Laser certification preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective communication skills in order to work with the public. Computer skills to utilize database systems to perform job duties required. Must be able to problem-solve. Keyboarding required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
