Promising opportunities

At Carilion, being an APP means joining a team that's investing in you. Our APP-led leadership council is working to build the voice, structure, and support that help APPs succeed, with more to come. You'll practice at the top of your license with meaningful procedural scope, fellowship training, and growing pathways for career growth.

We’ll empower you to pursue promising opportunities within inpatient, outpatient, or consultation settings.  Whether your interests lie in family medicine, emergency medicine, or neurosurgery, we’ll help you realize your best professional self.

Partnering with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals or administrators, you’ll be inspired to pursue continuous learning and develop into a consummate clinician. Through on-site education, off-campus conferences, and exposure to the latest treatments and technologies.

From our APP Council Co-chair

"I've been a PA 16 years and at Carilion for 12, and I'm happy to call this place home. I've been able to grow as a clinician in ways I didn't expect, with real scope and colleagues who push each other to improve. It's an academic environment with the feel of a close-knit team. It's been a great place to raise a family and still feel connected to the community. I came for the career and stayed for the life around it. It's been a great place to call home."
