Carilion Family Medicine- Dayton has a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant opportunity available. The APP will assist physicians and other nursing personnel in the delivery of primary health care and patient care. Duties include, but are not limited to: Assess, plan and provide care to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Perform patient examinations, compile appropriate patient information and documentation. Review patient reports and make appropriate recommendations and refill medications. Monday-Friday, 8-5.

What We Require:
Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program, including preceptorship required or Physician Assistant program.
Experience: One to three years experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.
Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required or Physician Assistant required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
Other: Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic’s malpractice insurance carrier. Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
