Velocity Care is a dynamic, fast-paced urgent care system with seven regional sites located in southwest VA, delivering high-quality, acute care for patients of all ages. Our providers manage a broad range of conditions, from upper respiratory infections, minor fractures, lacerations and more. We offer a balanced mix of scheduled visits and walk-ins, ensuring variety in your practice. Clinics operate from 8 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week, with flexible scheduling options, including 12-, 10-, and 8-hour shifts. Providers work primarily at 2-3 local sites but are credentialed across the system, maximizing both convenience and staffing flexibility.

Applicants will be required to have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner program. While prior emergency medicine or urgent care experience is preferred, it is not required—we provide a thorough orientation/training process. What We Require:
Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Licensure/Certification: Current Virginia State Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and DEA license required, or must be eligible to obtain. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification required. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier.
Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
