Financial Service Manager - Capital Planning

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

This position will support Carilion's Financial Planning and Capital department, including multi-year capital forecasting and capital reporting activities. Directs financial planning and financial evaluation of capital initiatives. Identifies and communicates areas of focus and action plans to execute financial goals and strategies. Project Management experience preferable.

• Manages Carilion’s five-year rolling capital plan
• Works directly on the development, implementation, and education of organizational wide capital policies and procedures.
• Provides technical expertise and support of business systems used for capital planning.
• Develops financial reports to analyze project budgets, expenditures, and project cash flow
• Helps establish and monitor financial metrics for capital evaluation and prioritization.
• Works directly with operational services lines in formulating their capital forecast
• Expected to be a decision-maker and problem solver; able to find unique and efficient ways to solve difficult and complex problems.
• Supervises financial staff as assigned and provides education and training for staff.
• Evaluates and recommends business opportunities.
• Works with Fixed Assets team to reconcile and resolve problems related to complicated capital projects.
• Serves as a member of finance management team.

What We Require:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration or 8 years of equivalent experience. Master’s degree in business administration or related field desirable.

Experience: Three to five years experience in healthcare finance, accounting or financial planning.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: CPA desirable.
