How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
Provides professional care to patients of all age within an assigned area. Provides management to the staff to assure quality patient care. Assumes responsibilities delegated by Director. Assists with development and coordination of strategically aligned system wide processes related to patient care. Facilitates effective open two-way communication and resolution of work site operational issues that support service line/service goals and objectives and benchmarks and targets.
- Serves as a role model, developmental coach and mentor for staff. Responsible for employee performance management. Selects, hires, and evaluates employee selection and performance management using system compensation, employment practices, and standard HR measures.
- Monitors performance improvement activities and/or collects PI data as directed by management. Initiates and participates in the development of action plans.
- Organizes and oversees daily activities of a department, work unit, team or process. Oversees the development of staff work schedule and makes appropriate resource allocation decision.
- Actively participates in obtaining desired service line/departmental outcomes. Participates in budget planning process and manages to a specified budget.
- Identifies and completes projects in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Fulfills staff responsibilities and accountabilities. Maintains professional and clinical competence. Ensures staff competence in all areas of clinical practice.
- Develops plan of anesthesia care for patient of all ages in coordination with an anesthesiologist or the patient’s physician.
- Implements and adjusts the anesthetic plan for patients of all ages to adapt to the patient’s response.
- Documents for patients of all ages the response to the anesthetic in a complete and accurate manner.
- Assures the safety of patients of all ages while undergoing the anesthetic care and when transferring the care of the patient to other qualified health care providers.
What We Require:
Education: Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing. Master’s degree from an accredited graduate school of nurse anesthesia education preferred.
Experience: Three to five years in related discipline.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse, and Nurse Practitioner in the State of Virginia. Current certification or recertification as an active, practicing nurse anesthetist as granted by the A.A.N.A. Council on Recertification. Maintain current American Heart Associated (AHA) approved BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
