ER EMT-Technician - New River Valley Medical Center - FT 11a-11p

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing delegation and supervision guidelines, assists with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities.

These include:
 

• Assistance with activities of daily living, comfort care and nutritional support.
• Performance of selected diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures as directed.
• Indirect patient care activities include maintaining a clean safe environment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and data collection as pertinent to the patient population.

What We Require:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical program in paramedic studies preferred.

Experience: One year EMT-A, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic experience is preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certified in the State of Virginia as an EMT-Advanced, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic and maintains National Registered status (preferred). AHA BLS - HCP, and ACLS required. PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, and NRP required within one year from date of hire.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards
