Performs a variety of highly skilled technical procedures in the application of diagnostic ultrasound for the imaging of normal and abnormal structures of the human body. Provides care and services to patients of all ages.
 

• Promotes Carilion Clinic’s Culture of Excellence and quality service through team work, respectful communication, maintenance of a professional environment, partnership with those we serve and anticipation of patient/customer needs.   
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.  
• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images according to ACR standards.
• Performs duties associated with processing patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
• Evaluates, positions and observes patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
• Complies with all CHS and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Maintains ARDMS registry by obtaining required CEU’s bi-annually. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.
