Job Summary

Successful candidate should be regional to the Roanoke Valley. Although this position will primarily be a remote position, candidate will be required to have on-site presence weekly depending on the project and scope of work. Therefore, travel to Carilion Clinic Patient Transportation (CCPT) Roanoke Base and other CCPT Locations will be required.

CCPT EMS/Flight Senior Operations Consultant works independently and as a team member in a broad range of division and service line activities. Leads, directs, or oversees various projects, analysis and consulting engagements, or standard operational tasks. Additional activities may include, but are not limited to technology planning, development and maintenance of project management and system development methodologies, special training assignments, other specific projects, departmental marketing, research and development, scorecard and dashboard development, data analysis and compilation, performance improvement projects, serve as a consulting resource to all Service Line departments and/or clients as assigned. Oversees, mentors, and directs work of Operations Consultants within the service line and others.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Leads or directs business and operational activities, system planning, and service or division design within the service line and all associated divisions/departments
  • Promotes Excellent Client and Service Line Relationships
  • Serves as a resource for the acquisition and dissemination of new healthcare practice knowledge and information science knowledge and trends.
  • Conducts timely and successful consulting engagements, such as system assessments, acquisitions, performance improvement or workflow reviews, and other consulting engagements as assigned.
  • Provides direction for clients, staff, and vendors to resolve problems and difficulties within a given projects and business practices. Make recommendations on how to improve performance, safety, or efficiency.
  • Supports development, tracking, and reporting of scorecard measures and targets. Performs detailed analyses for specific operation and quality initiatives. Develops summary, detail and dashboard reports and management summaries which present data findings in a professional, concise and readable format appropriate for content and audience.
  • Administers end-user technology applications in a compliant manner and according to established processes
  • Manages contract renewals and new contract executions, RFPs, and grants as directed by the responsible Senior Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 8 years of experience required.


  • 5 years’ experience in a job role with significant time invested in two (or more) of the following areas: Leadership, Project Management, Data Analysis, Workflow, Performance Improvement, or Consulting
  • 3 year minimum healthcare experience required, EMS agency experience or Hospital/Clinic setting preferred
  • Prior experience should include the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, Project Management Software or tools, and Performance improvement methodologies.
  • The applicant must possess advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Excel application.

Licensure, certification, and/ or registration:   Preference will be given to those with a professional certification in data, quality, informatics, or project management.

Other Minimum Qualifications:  Excellent oral and written communications skills, knowledge of business practices, positive attitude, self-motivated, ability to work with minimal direction, ability to lead, and adapt to change. Have experience in conflict resolution, negotiation, and difficult conversations Must possess a Valid Virginia Driver’s License
