Position Overview:

Carilion Clinic is hiring a full-time Clinical Psychologist located in Roanoke, VA. The primary responsibilities of this position include delivery of outpatient health-focused psychological services for individuals enrolled in our Chronic Pain Management Service (50%), individuals seen with comorbid psychiatric needs in our Cancer Center (35%), and individuals presenting with comorbid psychiatric disorders presenting in our Endocrinology Service (15%).

 

We are actively seeking a provider who demonstrates knowledge and ability to further our ability to develop culturally appropriate and evidence-based individual, group, and population-focused psychological interventions in the following domains:

· Evidenced-based psychological pain management interventions

· Evidence-based psychological treatment for individuals diagnosed with co-morbid chronic health and psychiatric disorders

 

The incumbent for this position will be expected to work as both an independent provider and function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team-based culture and structure. Ability to employ evidence-based diagnostic methods, psychotherapy, and measurement-based methods to demonstrate clinical outcomes is required.

 

The psychologist will maintain necessary requirements for a non-tenure academic appointment with Virginia Tech-Carilion School of Medicine, including teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents and medical students. The psychologist will also provide supervision of PhD and PsyD clinical psychology trainees and residents as our Psychological Services Section continues to grow and expand.

 

Knowledge of program evaluation and research methods is preferred as the psychologist will participate in program and outcomes evaluation and will also be encouraged to develop funded research and program development opportunities with emphasis on translational research and outcomes.

 

The psychologist will be required to be knowledgeable of ethical, professional, and state regulations and standards for use of telehealth in delivery of psychological services.

 

Remote work is available, though frequency of remote work is dependent on the needs of the clinic and position requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: PhD or PsyD from an APA or CPA-accredited clinical psychology graduate program. Successful completion of an APA or CPA-accredited doctoral internship.

 

Experience: Minimum supervised resident and postdoctoral hours as required the Virginia Board of Psychology. Completion of a specialty post-doctoral fellowship in a Health Psychology domain is desired, but not required.

 

License, certification, and/or registration: Active Virginia licensure as a clinical psychologist, or able to obtain a Virginia license to practice as a clinical psychologist by time of employment.

 

Other Minimum Qualifications: Meets Carilion Clinic credentialing requirements. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with physicians and other health care providers. Committed to continuing education
