Job Summary
Hybrid work schedule permitted (in-office and remote) and flexible working hours
Responsible for oversight of clinical research operations in Oncology, including direct supervision and development of research staff, adherence to regulations and site policies, trial performance management, and data reporting. Provides leadership in the various stages of clinical trials (startup, enrollment, and closure). Responsible for establishing effective working relationships with research leadership, clinical leadership, principal and sub-investigators, study teams, sponsors/CROs, and other collaborators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee team of Clinical Research Coordinators and Nurses, including regular and annual performance management, scheduling, professional development, and recruitment/training of new team members. Track and monitor trial metrics for active studies such as startup, screening, enrollment, screen failures, and closeout. Proactively identify obstacles to enrollment and work with study team to resolve study issues. Assist with development of departmental SOPs and policies. Assist with review of proposed clinical trial budgets and protocols. Facilitate study feasibility assessments prior to study initiation. Interface with technology services group and health analytics research team for study builds and technology review/implementation. Assist with clinical trial budget monitoring and invoiceable activity. Build and maintain strong relationships between internal team and external partners. Prepare reports for leadership, sponsors, CROs and other individuals/groups, as needed. Maintain positive and cooperative relationships in day-to-day interactions and communications. Promote effective teamwork among Clinical Research Coordinators/Nurses. Communicate and escalate unresolved issues at the appropriate time and to the appropriate level of leadership. Participate in educational activities and programs. Ensure all staff adheres to professional standards, good clinical practice (GCP) and SOPs established for clinical research.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, science, or related field required. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting AND a master’s degree in a related field OR Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a clinical trial/research setting AND a bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Prior clinical trial and/or staff management experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred upon hire. Will be required to obtain a research certification within one (1) year of hire if not previously obtained.

Ability to work with diverse community of people and relate to wide variety of professional levels. Advanced knowledge of human subjects research regulations. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Adaptability to adjust to changing priorities and ability to process large volumes of information. Highly organized. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong leadership skills desired.
