The Contact Tracer RN has the responsibility for supporting the Contact Tracer initiative within Infection Prevention and Employee Health  in accordance with established standards, i.e., The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The initiative is designed to reduce the risk of endemic, pandemic, and  hospital associated infections in patients, health care workers, and visitors by collecting data, reviewing and reporting on potential and actual exposures. Respond to all inquiries consistent with confidentiality and privacy policies.   The Contact Tracer RN will use a web-based data management platform to call contacts diagnosed with COVID-19 to document a symptom check, refer them to testing according to established protocols, and provide them with instructions for quarantine or isolation, if appropriate, and conduct highly confidential phone interviews, gather data, and work in multiple systems to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with performance standards, policy, procedures, and protocol.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum requirement graduate from an accredited nursing program (ASN), BSN preferred.

Experience: Knowledge and/or job experience in epidemiologic principles and infectious diseases preferred Experience with EMR, Excel and databases.

Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: RN license in the state of Virginia.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong organizational and analytical skills. Knowledge of word processing, spread sheets, and presentation programs.
