Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.


Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in computer electronics, PC and/or telephony support.

Experience in microcomputers and supporting desktop hardware/software required.


Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation.

 

CompTIA A+

Dell Hardware Certification (WPD)

 

Additionally, any one of the following are preferred, but not required:

 

Avaya ACA / Avaya ACIS

CompTIA Network+

Comp TIA Project +

CWNA

Microsoft MCP

Microsoft Specialist Windows 7, Windows 10

Microsoft MCSA Windows 7, MCSA Windows 8

HP Sales Certified – Imaging and Printing Fundamentals along with certifications for individual current Enterprise Models on the Carilion Printer Fleet

Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral).  Must have excellent problem solving skills, and be customer service oriented.

Installs and supports both voice and data peripheral technologies, including but not limited to PCs, laptops, printers, mobile phones, tablets (including other wireless handheld devices) and telephones.  Provides on-site and remote equipment troubleshooting and repair for all technologies to ensure operational effectiveness of the organization.  Assists vendor and other technology teams with the initial troubleshooting of connectivity and hardware/software related issues.  Aids with onsite and remote observations of technology issues in efforts of helping provide client issue resolution.
