Develop new interface connections and data transformations. Monitor and maintain existing interfaces. Responsible for performing system analysis and designing to include requirements, specifications, configuration, documentation, testing, and integration of various hospital systems using knowledge of HL7, FHIR, API, HIPAA, EMR and EHR systems, one or more clinical workflows, and knowledge of HIPAA. Review customer and vendor technical requirements and specifications to ensure accurate data transformation and translation. Provide technical support during and after implementation for interface engine and connections. Requires specialized skill set. Conducts highly complex work, without supervision and with extensive latitude for independent judgment. Serves as a liaison between TSG groups, clients, and vendors and as a mentor to others on the team and in the department.
 

  • Designs, develops, and maintains integration engine, iPaas system technology, HL7 interfaces, Epic Bridges interfaces, FHIR API interfaces utilizing knowledge of various HL7 specifications. Participates in the creation of development standards, application life cycle analysis, application upgrades, system upgrades, network upgrades, and Epic upgrades in addition to new application implementations.
  • Performs complex end to end troubleshooting between applications, servers, and the integration engine utilizing server logs, HL7 transaction logs, application logs, and knowledge of JavaScript, FHIR, API, and HL7 standards. Familiary with troubleshooting tools such as Notepad++, Rhapsody IDE, Rhapsody WMC, Linux command line, windows command line, Postman and other tools without supervision.
  • Utilizes knowledge of HIPAA and clinical workflow to ensure interfaces match both technical and clinical compliance requirements. Ensures accurate transmission of PHI between systems and applications.
  • Participates extensively in application interface design, build, unit testing, and integration testing with both technical and clinical resources without supervision. Reviews and provides feedback on Lean Intake (LIT) Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates and Detatil Solutions Designs (DSD) provided by Solutions Architects.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains assigned programs and interfaces. Conducts advanced analysis design including but not limited to planning implementations. Develops and maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of assigned applications, development, and maintenance tools.
  • Tracks and resolves issues without supervision. Mentors teammates in resolution and tracking issues and providing updates to peers, leadership and clients without supervision.
  • Manages large tasks and projects with no supervision. Provides leadership and guidance to members of the team on tasks and projects. Leads team to achieve predetermined objectives. Maximizes the development of required changes to assigned programs to meet client business needs and/or application functionality.
  • Adheres to departmental policies and procedures. Serves as advocate for department initiatives and processes. Helps establish departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develops reference material, documentation and training materials for supported applications, scripts, etc. to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff.
  • Coordinates, plans, and leads analysis of client business needs and identifies opportunities for maximizing system benefits with no supervision.

What We Require:


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3 to 6 years of related experience preferred. Comprehensive understanding of HL7 protocol, JavaScript, and Epic Bridges. Experience working in an agile development environment preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: One or more of the following is recommended: ITIL 4 Foundation Certification, HL7 Certification, HL7 FHIR v4 API Certification, Epic Bridges Certification, Lyniate Rhapsody Basic Maintenance, Lyniate Rhapsody Associate, Lyniate Rhapsody Professional

Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills. Effective communication skills (oral, written and presentation). Familiarity with XML, HL7, FHIR, ANSI X12, NCPDP and API implementation and tools. Java, JavaScript, or other programming experience preferred. Linux command line and platform experience preferred. Familiarity with one or more clinical workflows and with HIPAA guidelines. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented
