Job Summary

Responsible for contributing to the design, development and architecture of enterprise applications using technologies, such as Java, relational databases, and front-end technologies like Angular, CSS, HTML5, as part of the development team.

 

Serves as a resource for multiple assigned applications/systems. Develops documentation related to building activities. Responsible for making timely, effective decisions in relation to assigned projects. This position will have contact with both internal and external customers and is expected to work in a professional manner. Resolves issues of moderate complexity without intervention of more senior staff.

 

Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral). Agile development experience preferred. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

High school degree required. Associates/Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare business or equivalent experience required.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience and/or formal education.

· Proficient in Java and SQL.

· Proficient with relational database design and development (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)

· Frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and Angular 2 or greater.

· Object Oriented Analysis and Design

· Frameworks such as Java Persistence API(JPA)/Hibernate, Java Server Faces(JSF), Enterprise Java Beans(EJB)

· Development technologies such as Git, Maven, Bitbucket, Bamboo

· Middleware technologies such as Apache, Apache Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly

· Intermediate knowledge of Unix/Linux.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

 

Licensure, certification, and/or registration:

Maintains application vendor certifications as needed. ITIL V3 Certification preferred. Valid VA driver’s license.

 

Other Minimum Qualifications:

· Requires rotating on-call responsibilities and carrying a pager/cell phone.

· Position requires irregular and weekend work hours, with occasional overnight travel.

· Presents ideas and instructions clearly, verbally and in writing using appropriate presentation tools as needed.

· Uses proper grammar and punctuation.

· Practices reflective listening skills.

· Demonstrates ability to monitor and track highly detailed and moderately complex projects, systems, and data.

· Completes assigned projects within required timeframes.

· Monitors and reports progress to team lead.

· Develops meeting agendas and facilitates project team meetings.

· Demonstrates courteous, timely, and professional approach in dealing with clients and co-workers.

· Follows up with clients on unresolved problems.

· Demonstrates the ability to be a team member by working successfully with internal and external clients.

· Plans and works on joint projects, and coordinates with others to achieve objectives.

· Serves as a member of multiple project teams, taking direction from leadership.

· Does not breach privacy and confidentiality of patients or staff.

· Demonstrates accountability for self-development by completing annual development and required in-service education plans.

· Completes annual professional development and required in-service education.
