Massage Therapist - Carilion Wellness Roanoke Flex

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Provides relaxation/ stress relief chair massage for Carilion employees in the healthcare setting.

Significant Responsibilities:

Performs significant job responsibilities:

• As part of Wellness team, provides stress management through brief chair massage encounters to Carilion employees through the Wellness at Work program.
• Performs setup and maintenance of equipment and supplies to deliver chair massage services. Adheres to safety practices in the work environment and reports areas of concern.
• Documents massages provided per shift to Wellness Programs Manager.
• Assures personal and professional development through participation in educational activities and completion of annual competency validation.
• Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care.  As a team member, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and other employees.   
• Champion Carilion's mission, vision, and values; comply with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company.

Job Scope:

Frequently interacts with members of the healthcare team. Physical requirements include:  Lifting, prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, grasping, and repetitive movement with the hands and arms. 

What We Require:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a state-approved massage therapy training program.

Experience: None required. Previous patient care experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Currently licensed/certified as Massage Therapist in the State of Virginia.  Currently certified in ACL BLS-HCP.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Other Minimum Qualifications: Positive interpersonal and oral communication skills and effective written communication skills. Scheduling is administered through text, email, and on-line calendar invitations. Must be comfortable navigating Carilion facilities/hospitals independently.  Must be courteous, customer-focused, and exhibit integrity.  Must be able to meet physical requirements for essential job functions including transport of massage chair.
