POSITION LOCATED AT ROANOKE MEMORIAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Manages, coordinates and maintains effective and efficient daily Patient Access operations while ensuring that both service line and facility initiatives and projects are completed on time, within budget, properly staffed and objectives met. Collaboratively implements best practices and standards. Builds positive relationships with appropriate disciplines to provide quality customer service to internal and external customers. Responsible for selecting, hiring, training and performing disciplinary actions for assigned site personnel. Promotes team building and programs for attaining quality service, satisfaction and financial goals.
- Applies key financial concepts and analysis to decision making. Develops and implements actionable work plans with measurable outcomes. Continually assesses and reallocates resources to meet demands.
- As key liaison with clients, Carilion personnel, and external resources, holds self and team accountable for maintaining the highest possible performance standards, professionalism and ethical behavior.
- Delivers efficient, consistent and timely services. Recognizes and acts on opportunities for growth and improvement to advance Carilion goals. Uses project management principles to accomplish goals, seeks out appropriate resources and proactively anticipates change within the market, industry and healthcare system. Aligns services with the mission and vision of Carilion. Translates Carilion goals into department and team-member specific goals, objectives and priorities.
- Inspires enthusiasm and builds support for projects. Attracts, selects, develops, evaluates and retains qualified employees. Effectively uses developmental planning to expand employee skills and abilities, and addresses areas for improvement through coaching and or corrective action.
What We Require:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or 8 years of equivalent experience required. Epic ADT Proficiency required.
Experience: Minimum of five years previous experience in medical office supervisory and/or management.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Participation in professional organizations required with applicable certifications within 1 year of employment. Examples include: CHAM (Certified Hospital Access Manager) or CHAA (Certified Hospital Access Associate) offered through
NAHAM (National Association of Healthcare Access Management); or
CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) or CHFP (Certified Healthcare Finance Professional) offered through HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association).
Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent leadership, team building, and employee development skills. Well organized and detail oriented. Educated in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact in a professional manner.
