How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
Provides leadership, strategic direction, innovative programs/approaches, and operational oversight for the recruiting and on-boarding of physicians, APPS, and CRNAs for Carilion Clinic. Ensures professional staff are qualified to fulfill the Carilion Clinic mission. Works collaboratively with the Carilion Clinic leadership and departments to ensure strategic goals for recruitment are achieved in the most efficient way. Demonstrates high standards of ethical and professional conduct and leadership acumen. This position reports to Carilion Clinic's Senior Vice President and CHRO.
Performs specific job responsibilities:
- Improves the delivery of care and safety of patients through the recruitment of skilled physicians, APPs, and CRNAs for Carilion Clinic. Supports continuity of care by collaborating to establish and implement a successful orientation program for professional staff. Identifies and reports regularly on key recruitment metrics that measure the effectiveness of recruitment activities.
- Lead the full cycle of recruitment for staffing needs including research, sourcing, screening, and placement.
- Develops and deploys branding strategies, including company career site, social media, search engine marketing, mobile technology, and other electronic recruitment resources.
- Ensures effective planning and coordination of resources in area of responsibility and, as appropriate, across departments, and Clinic wide. This includes the management of the process that starts with the business plan for the new hire and ends with orienting the new hire as an employee at Carilion Clinic. Applies sound processes and methods to turnaround times and work processes. Demonstrates sound problem prevention/solution and intervention in relation the effectiveness of the recruitment an on-boarding processes for professional staff.
- Delivers the most cost effective and efficient way of providing recruitment and on-boarding services to meet the organization's professional staffing needs. Continually assesses and reallocates human, financial and material resources to meet demands. Utilizes system method of planning and prioritizing workflow. Routinely undertakes assessment and evaluation exercises in order to improve services and be accountable for outcomes.
- Leads area through a vision and goals that support mission, values and goals of the Clinic and the professional group. Initiates and leads change for improvement. Accomplishments occur through strong servant leadership principles. Exhibits influence, teamwork, personal initiative, effective role modeling and creativity.
- Builds and sustains an effective team for continuity, career progression, success, growth, and sustainability of the organization. Ensures there is a high performing and diverse team recognized for collaboration, innovation, and results. Supports the organization's developing of a high performing, engages and diverse workforce.
- Utilize internal and external sources to generate competitive intelligences and best practices (e.g. hiring practices, salary information, etc.); share intelligence with internal business partners and leverage this information to develop talent acquisition strategy.
What We Require:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care management, human resources, business or education related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Seven (7) years physician and provider recruitment experience is required. Five years leading a talent acquisition function is required.
