The Registered EEG Technologist erforms various EEG neurodiagnostic procedures as requested by physician. Works closely with Director to coordinate organization wide EEG services including scheduling, development of policies and procedures, identifying and/or conducting training and overseeing assigned performance improvement activities.
1. Provides quality service in a caring, supportive and professional manner. Actively commits to team building and communication efforts, provision for cost-effectiveness, service excellence and respect for everyone by demonstrating actions which support the Carilion Clinic mission, guiding principles, goals and objectives.
2. Oversees coordination of shift scheduling, call scheduling and assists with coverage for other EEG technicians when off. Provides input on staff's annual performance appraisal.
3. Assists Director with development of policies and procedures for EEG areas and assists with standardization of practices, forms, procedures, equipment and supplies where possible.
4. Assists with data gathering and quality management for EEG and/or research. Delivers quality management reports to Director as needed.
5. Participates in in-service and educational opportunities for Neurodiagnostic Services. Plans periodic Neurodiagnostic Services meetings. Also assists with training of new EEG staff and supports current EEG staff in training of highly specialized procedures and skills check offs.
6. Works closely with Director on projects such as monthly reports, supplies and equipment requisitions and keeping supplies par level, provides recommendations for operating and capital budgets.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent, two year college degree in scientific field and or Bachelors preferred. Formal training in recognized electroencephalography technology program highly desirable.

Experience: Three -five years experience as an EEG Technician preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Registration by “The American Board of Registration of Electroecncephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc.” highly desirable.

Other Minimum Qualifications:  Good interpersonal skills. Must be versatile and flexible both in technical skills and work schedule. BLS and PALS required or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
