The Senior Director of Revenue Cycle works with the VP and SVP of Revenue Cycle to establish and execute a vision focused on a high performing and positive work environment.  Supports Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provides overall leadership, direction and oversight for the administrative, financial and managerial functions required to support the effective operation of the patient registration and pre-service collection functions for the hospital Admissions and Emergency Departments, Outpatient and Ambulatory Registration (both on site and remote), including personnel, budget, equipment management, policies and procedures, and strategic planning activities. Works closely with internal and external business units and corporate functions, focusing on strategic initiatives as well as development and communication of standards relating to organization-wide policies, procedures,and performance goals.  Coordinates resources to accomplish excellence in customer services and data integrity.  Ensures adherence to federal, state and local requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from accredited 4-year university in the following categories: Business, Finance, Accounting, Health Care Administration, computer science or related field required. Master’s degree in above subjects preferred.

Experience: Seven (7) years demonstrating progressively responsible leadership operating in highly complex and fast paced roles with both operational and technical components. Seven years of technical, project or people management experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Epic Revenue Cycle ADT Certification preferred

Other Minimum Qualifications: 

 Demonstrated ability to provide proactive analysis of and resolution to potential hurdles affecting the organization's reimbursement and accounts receivable, specifically leveraging process improvement and technology to drive outcomes and change. Proven ability to guide and mentor team members in support of development and career growth. Demonstrated success in yielding significant results in improving patient collections and registration functions.  Proactive strategic planner with highly focused project management skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual and have flexibility of approach for critical access and large hospitals and a variety of service areas. Experience in leadership of teams or projects beyond a departmental level required. Proficient computer skills required. Strong technical knowledge and experience leading technical initiatives. Day travel involved to locations outside of the Roanoke area.
