Job Summary

In collaboration with Carilion Franklin Memorial Leadership team and patient care teams, assumes accountability for appropriate patient placement, resource utilization, and administrative decision-making. Coordinates and shares accountability with all Service Lines and Patient Care Divisions to ensure goals and objectives are met.  Provides professional and advanced technical clinical skills for patients of all ages.  Serves as mentor for nursing staff and role model for all employees. Will maintain competence to assist and fill staffing needs in ED, ICU, and ACS department as need arises.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in patient care setting.  Critical Care or Emergency nursing experience preferred.   

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed as Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.  Must achieve and maintain AHA BLS-HCP, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS certification within six months of acquiring position.   

Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrates leadership qualities at current level of practice.  Positive interpersonal and oral communication skills, effective written communication skills, integrity and team player, courteous, ability to resolve complaints/problems, customer
focused philosophy of service, ability/willingness to work as an integral member of a multiskilled team.
