How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
Provides support to the Medical Staff Committees and coordinates peer review processes for blood usage, deaths, and restraints; and data reporting for core measures and other quality indicators. Ensures reporting of data through appropriate committee structures.
- Coordinates functions of the Medical Staff Committees by preparing agenda, recording minutes, and identifying needed follow-up. Ensures Medical Staff Performance Improvement activities are appropriately performed and documented. Assists in other PI activities and investigation of quality of care concerns as needed.
- Coordinates peer review process for blood usage, deaths, and restraints. Ensures reporting through appropriate committee structures.
- Provides regular reports to the Medical Staff Executive Committee.
- Supports Medical and Nursing Staff through the development, review, and maintenance of order sets and forms.
- Tracks core measure results and creates graphs and charts for presentation to Medical Staff Committees.
- Maintains a data base with information specific to the Hospitalists’ activity and submits report to CEO and Carilion Medical Group leaders.
- Assist the Credentialing Coordinator in all aspects of credentialing, including appointment and reappointment for Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals. Queries the National Practitioner Data Bank and performs other duties as assigned by the Credentialing Coordinator.
What We Require:
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
Experience: Three years experience in an in an office setting, preferably within an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software. Previous work with a Medical Staff Services or credentialing preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registration: CPCS certification preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Computer skills in Microsoft package and data base management. Ability to problem solve and work under pressure required. Highly organized and able to simultaneously manage numerous tasks/projects within established timeframes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to be flexible. Good interpersonal communication, both verbal and written. AHA BLS- HCP required within 6 months of hire.
