Exciting opportunity for RN or CVT (RCIS, RCES) with leadership experience to join Carilion’s Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) as the Director of the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Departments. Sign on bonus and relocation allowance available.

At CRMH we have 5 Cardiac Catheterization and 3 Electrophysiology Departments. The Cath lab is an ACC-accredited Chest Pain center with a 24/7 STEMI program. The Cath Lab offers state of the art procedures such as TAVRs, Mitral Clips, Watchman/Amulet, PFO closures, as well as being a high-volume PCI center. The EP lab procedures include cardiac ablations, pacemakers, and defibrillator implantations.

As part of CVI, both the Cath Lab and EP Lab will be relocating to the new Crystal Spring Tower by 2025. The Crystal Spring Tower is a 400,000-square-foot expansion to Roanoke Memorial Hospital – the future home of our Cardiovascular Institute and an expanded Emergency Department. This video explains the stages of construction, which began in the summer of 2020.

The Director will oversee all personnel management, resource maintenance, regulatory compliance, quality, and fiscal budget of the department.

• Fosters a clinical environment that is conducive to professional development and ongoing success
• Responsible for the development of department goals, action plans and outcome monitoring in alignment with the organizational strategic plan. Engages all direct reports in meeting strategic department goals.
• Responsible for planning of the budget and managing expenses in alignment with global cost-saving initiatives including, but not limited to, staffing mix and supply management.
• Manages the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology departments at the Roanoke Campus.

What We Require:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years leadership experience required, preferably in a Cardiac Catheterization or Electrophysiology department. RN or CVT preferred. Functional knowledge and experience in the support areas. Minimum of 4 years acute care hospital experience required. Functional knowledge and experience in the Cardiac Catheterization and/or Electrophysiology department preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiovascular Electriophsiology Specialist (RCES) or Registered Cardio-Vascular Tech (RCVT) is preferred. RN applicant requires a current VA license.

Life Support: BLS Required. ACLS preferred, required within 6 months of the hire date.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with spreadsheet software packages for personal computers.
