Carilion Clinic Hospice Services is seeking a Hospice Manager, RN, position for their Roanoke based office for clinical and business operations of a growing hospice program. Though normal working hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday, the candidate will have 24 hour accountability for the department which may require verbal and/or electronic communications with staff outside of traditional operating hours. May be required to travel to other offices at times. Qualified candidates should demonstrate a proven record of successful leadership of a hospital based or community based hospice program. Must demonstrate success in business growth, diversification and quality. Demonstration of a proven track record of managing a multidisciplinary team of individuals while producing stellar patient outcomes and exceptional care experience for the patients and families we serve.
Plans, organizes, directs, communicates and evaluates activities of hospice departments. Serves as the appointed Administrator for Hospice. Assumes 24 hour accountability for human resources, operational performance and patient care for hospice. Responsible for all complex operational and personnel issues of a legal and ethical nature. Collaborates with the Vice President to assure that system wide standards of care, service excellence, and goals and objectives are met at the local level. Develops, implements, and monitors the fiscal budget and capital equipment needs to assure the cost effective delivery of care. Collaborates with Clinical Leaders to implement daily services and supervise clinical care of the interdisiplinary team in both business units. Responsible for medical review and reimbursement appeals process. May make home visits for patients of all ages, as required, for staff supervision/evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) required.
Experience: Three to five years experience in health care management required. Hospice experience preferred. Thorough working knowledge of current regulations and accrediting standards for the State of Virginia and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations required. Experience in managing in a competitive environment.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia. Must possess VA Driver's license.
Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint required. Demonstrates positive interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, analytical business skills, integrity, innovation, team player, problem solving/conflict resolution skills and customer focused philosophy. Work is performed in an office environment with travel required. meets physical requirements for essential job functions. Must have a criminal record check showing no convictions of barrier crimes.
