Operations Manager - Carilion Transfer and Communications Center - Parkview

Carilion Clinic Emergency Services operates 24/7/365 with many core business functions operating out of the Parkview site (2301 Brambleton Ave, Roanoke, VA 24015). Each of these areas is critical to system throughput and operations and are projected to have expanded growth over the next fiscal year, which includes standing up tele-medicine services for the system.

The Parkview Operations Manager for Carilion Clinic Emergency Services will provide on-site leadership support for the service line outside of normal business hours. The collaborative approach- using one position to support multiple areas is a cost effective and efficient strategy for the service line.

Key responsibilities include:

· On-site rounding with each of the front-line teams during the shift to provide employee support and resolution of concerns or challenges that require immediate attention.

· Promoting collaboration and teamwork between front-line teams to promote the effective and efficient use of resources for the system.

· Collaborates with departmental leadership on areas of focus and serves as an extension of each primary leadership team.

· Supervises front-line staff and operations, providing real-time coaching and feedback on performance.

· Provides end of shift communication to departmental leaders for awareness and follow-up.

· Serves as the administrative liaison for leadership, employees, and patients.

· Serves as the incident commander during emergency operations, which may include standing up operations at the back-up site and escalates communication through the appropriate channels to departmental leadership.

· Serves as an on-site point of contact to assist with escalation of low frequency problems requiring services that do not maintain an overnight presence at Parkview, i.e., Carilion Security, Property Management, Property Maintenance, Environmental Services, Employee Health, etc.

This position will be primarily managed under the Director of the Virtual Care Center; however, there will be a dotted line reporting structure to each department director.

What We Require:

Education: Bachelor's degree or 4 equivalent years extensive healthcare experience required.

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience is required. Prior experience managing multiple teams, preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certifications may be required in certain areas.
