How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
Responsible for the design, implementation, and advance support of audio/video media service solutions for clinical, financial, educational, academic and administrative applications for the Carilion enterprise, including but not limited to all Carilion Hospitals, Ambulatory Physician Practices, Administrative Services Facilities, and Academic Facilities. Manages corporate projects and problem resolution requiring the participation of multiple specialized teams.
- Develops, analyzes, optimizes, implements, and maintains the Carilion Clinic IP video network environment. This includes, but is not limited to, H.323/H.264/SIP video endpoints (hardware and software based), H.323 gateways, H.323 MCU bridges, H.323 NAT traversal appliances, Polycom IP recording systems, Polycom media servers, and other emerging IP-based video technologies.
- Develops and implements processes and scripts using various technologies to manipulate video infrastructure functionality and configurations to meet business needs in the enterprise.
- Interfaces video infrastructure with existing Active Directory environment for authentication and authorization of end-users surrounding recorded and real time streamed video content.
- Develops and implements test plans for assessing new video technologies and applications, including researching and reporting on emerging technologies and trends in the audio/video field.
- Presents on technical topics at local and regional meetings, conferences, etc. as appropriate.
- Develops and implements reference materials for supported video technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of technical staff, as well as end users.
- Interfaces with clients, vendors, and other teams on multi-faceted projects involving video requirements in support of enterprise technologies.
- Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to problem incidents as escalated from the Technology Service Center.
- Adheres to departmental policies and procedures in an effort to assure prompt resolution to identified problems.
- Completes and maintains documentation of a minimum of 15 hours of pertinent continuing education each year.
What We Require:
Education: Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum three years experience in information technology, videoconferencing support, broadcasting, and/or an audio/visual environment. Experience with Polycom video technologies preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation. CCNA certification.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral). Must have good working knowledge of video related infrastructure technologies including, but not limited to, H.323/H.264/H.265/SIP video endpoints (hardware and software), H.323 gateways, H.323 MCU bridges, H.323 NAT traversal appliances, Polycom IP recording systems, Polycom media servers and Telemedicine technologies. Must have an applied understanding of the TCPIP protocol, as well as multicast routing functions. Must have a good working knowledge of both desktop and server based Microsoft operating systems. Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds NPM or similar products. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented.
